The Gala

Peter and Dan

The Annual Gala is Children’s Surgery International’s largest fundraising event. Each year, volunteers, patrons, friends, providers and community members gather to celebrate, recognize and support the work of the organization.

The 2015 CSI Gala

Co-chairs Joel Johnson and Katie Hagen extend their heartfelt thanks to all who made the 11th Annual CSI Gala another wonderful success! The event, which took place on April 18, 2015 at Millennium Hotel Minneapolis, raised over $160,000 for the children we serve!

Guests were serenaded by beautiful music from Alison Scott, bid on many unique and covetable items in the slient auction, and participated in an exciting auction which featured, among other great items, the opportunity to participate on this years featured mission to Vietnam! Esera Tuaolo, former Minnesota Viking, and many of our partners from missions sites including Bangladesh, Mexico and Liberia were all in attendance, and Emcee Chris Egert shared his own story about his involvement with the organization.

This year CSI also honored Dr. Peter Melchert for his service to CSI. Presented by Board Chair Tom Fansler, the Exemplary Contribution Award recognized Peter's involvement as an esteemed member of the CSI Board of Directors, having served as our Medical Director for many years, as well as his participation on multiple mission trips and his overall passion for the organization and love for the work we do and the children we serve. Thank you, Peter!
