Some people take vacations; our volunteers donate them.
CSI also has well over 200 dedicated volunteers, all of whom go above and beyond behind and on the scenes and make our work possible. Our volunteers include surgeons, doctors, nurses, anesthesia care providers, medical records and biomedical personnel, community activists, business professionals, recruiters, designers, photographers, planners, organizers, coordinators and many more.
All medical mission trips are staffed with licensed surgeons, physicians, anesthesia and nursing personnel who are experts in pediatric care. Note that while we do not accept medical students on our missions as medical personnel, they are welcome to apply as non-medical volunteers. CSI can only take a limited number of non-medical volunteers on our missions, but please consider getting involved stateside as well!.
If you are heart-set on participating on a mission, please consider our Partners Program!
Please contact us if you have questions about volunteering or our Partners Program.
One of the primary objectives of Children's Surgery International is to provide real life experiences which help young people realize their potential to affect change. Our missions give students this opportunity; they come to know that with a little bit of effort and ingenuity they can change a child's life forever.
Over the past ten years students have been members of our missions to Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, North Viet Nam, Gaza and Morocco. Our youth team members have the opportunity to sponsor and follow a child from intake through surgery and recovery and share that information with their school. The impact of one students experience on their entire school community is yet another rewarding aspect of this opportunity.
Currently, youth participation in our missions is on hold. If you are interested in fundraising, or for information on how your school can become involved, please contact us.
